So, COVID-19! It’s definitely changed how you buy beauty products in TK Maxx. Last week I visited two different TK Maxx stores to see what’s good, what’s not been discounted that much and a sneak peek of how it all works if you haven’t got out to the shops yet.
As always I will research the ACTUAL full price cost of the item from a website like Boots, Look Fantastic or Cult Beauty, and tell you the price in TK Maxx. In the past, I’ve found the TK Maxx RRPs to not be that reliable when it comes to accuracy.
Makeup

Anastasia Beverly Hills liquid lipstick – usually £20, only £8.99 at TK Maxx.
You can see that the way TK sells lipsticks has totally changed, for obvious hygiene reasons. All of the individual lip, face and eye products were in these plastic bags. For nail products, I think it depends on where you go. In one store they were bagged up, and in another, they were on a shelf unpackaged.
Same for skincare, in some stores they’re in security boxes, and others they’re loose. HOWEVER, I also saw some very dirty, obviously touched pre-lockdown makeup in bags. While I’m glad TK Maxx is doing something to stop the manhandling of makeup that goes on, I’d still be nervous to buy something delicate like an eyeshadow palette without seeing it first.
If you can, I’d recommend googling the shade you’re buying before you take it to the till. I’ve already seen someone in a Facebook group buy a palette with NEON written on it that was just beige.
Anyway, scroll for bargains from ABH, Huda Beauty, It Works, Clinique, Cover FX and loads more…

Nars Audacious lipstick – usually £26, £12.99 in TK Maxx.

Anastasia Beverly Hills matte lipstick – usually £18, TK Maxx price £7.99.

Ciate Olivia Palermo lipstick – usual price £19, TK Maxx price £6. HUGE CAVEAT: I can’t find any mention of these lipsticks being on sale since their release in 2015, would you buy a 5 year old lipstick? Skip this one, in my opinion!

Nars velvet matte lip pencil – usual price £22, TK Maxx price £6.

Cover FX custom cover drops – usual price £25, TK Maxx price £4.

Kevyn Aucoin Jewel Pop mini lip collection – usual price £20, TK Maxx price £5.99.
Just a note, this is a gift set from Christmas 2019, so even though it’s out of stock online, it’s not that old.

Cover FX contour kit – usual price £19, TK Maxx price £4.99.

Huda Beauty Summer and Winter highlighter palettes – usual price £40 each, TK Maxx price £19.99. It’s worth noting that these palettes were released in 2017, so watch out for expired products.

Rodial airbrush makeup – usual price £12, TK Maxx price £3.

BareMinerals Gen Nude Patent Lip Laquer – usual price £19, TK Maxx price £6.

Milk Makeup eye vinyl in tunnel – usual price $20 (never sold in the UK as far as I can tell), TK Maxx price £4.
Again, this is a product that was sold in 2016/17, and liquid products don’t usually keep so well.
Nail polish

Essie nail polishes, usual price £7.99 – TK Maxx price £2.99 – £3.99. If you like cheap nail polish, my guide to getting a mani bargain might be of interest.

Skincare

This Works sleep gift sets – usual price £12 ish, TK Maxx prices £5.99, £6.99, £7.99.
These sets are from last Christmas, so not too old!

NIP+FAB Dragons Blood Fix Serum Extreme – usual price £22.95, TK Maxx price £9.99.

Dr PawPaw balm – usual price £6.99, TK Maxx price £2.99.

Clinique moisture surge intense 50ml – usual price £37, TK Maxx price £20.

Rituals Ritual of Karma SPF 30 – usual price £15.50, TK Maxx price £5.99.
All in all, I’d definitely have to say there’s a lot fewer beauty products on offer in TK Maxx post-lockdown. However, there seems to be less disgusting smashed and opened products. Have you been in store? Have you picked up anything good?
